Agronomy faculty is one of the oldest in the university. It started from the opening of the university.

The faculty trains full specialists on the following specialities: 110101 Agro-chemistry and agro-soil study (with specialization “Certification of farm objects and produce”), 110102 Agro-ecology (with specialization “Ecological expertise and audit”), 110201 Agronomy (with specialization “Field husbandry” and “Vegetable growing”), Fruits and vegetables growing and vine-growing (with specialization “Phyto-design”). Bachelor’s degree is given on speciality 110200 Agronomy.

At present the faculty trains more than 700 students. The students and young scientists get scientific grants and win all-Russian scientific contests among agrarian universities on speciality Agronomy.

The teaching staff includes 60 professors: 18 doctors and 36 candidates of sciences.

The agronomy faculty is famous for its scientific achievements all over the country. The main scientific fields are: soil formation processes research and agro-ecological estimation of soils (I.K. Khabirov), selection and seed-growing of early high-productive ecologically plastic kinds and hybrids of wheat, winter rye, sugar beet, clover, beans and sunflower (S.N. Samigullin, R.R. Ismagilov, R.K. Kadikov), technologies of producing ecologically safe high-quality crop produce (R.R. Ismagilov), development and improving the efficiency of new mineral and organic mineral fertilizers basing on local agro-ores (N.A. Sereda), technologies of conveyor production of feeds, high-protein and non-traditional fodder crops (S.N. Nadezhkin), development of poly-functional bio-fungicides (R.M. Khairullin), improving systems of agro-landscape land using (R.S. Kirayev).

The departments of the faculty have their experimental lots at the university field, study station on field husbandry and fruit and vegetable growing in Ufa district, departments on production fields and base enterprises – “Artemida” in Karmaskaly district, “Agli” in Chishmy district, Botanical garden-institute, Center for agro-chemistry service “Bashkirski”, in Baimak, Chishmy and Kushnarenkovo selection centers, in “Alekseevski” state farm and others.

In recent 10 years the professors of Agronomy faculty have published more than 1,300 works, among them 48 books, 67 study books, they also received 9 patents, selected 7 new kinds of crops, won 17 golden, silver and bronze medals on different international, all-Russian and republican contests and exhibitions. There is also a unique soil museum with soils monoliths of the republic of Bashkortostan gathered during expeditions.

The Agronomy faculty has trained 9,000 specialists so far.

At present there are four departments at the faculty: of farming and soil study; of agro-chemistry, plant protection and agro-ecology; of plant growing, feeds production, fruits and vegetables growing; of botanic, physiology and plants selection.
