The farm mechanization faculty was opened in 1950 because of the necessity in complex mechanization and engineers in farming.
The faculty proved to be the provider of engineers for agriculture in the republic of Bashkortostan.

At present the faculty trains engineers on speciality 110301 Farm mechanization (with specialization “Farm machinery operation”), 190601 Automobiles and automobile management (with specialization “Technical exploitation of automobiles”), teachers of professional education on speciality 050501 Professional education (agro engineering) (with specialization “Farm mechanization”) and bachelors in agro engineering.

The faculty is training more than 1,600 students, among them 950 – full-time students. The students of the faculty win all-region and all-Russian students’ contests among technical universities on the theory of mechanisms and study of strength of materials.

The teaching staff of the faculty includes 94 professors: 11 doctors of sciences and 59 candidates of sciences.

There are several scientific schools: development of resource-saving technologies of restoring worn-out parts in farm machines (M.N. Farkhshatov, E.L. Levin); improving of construction, operation and repairs of diesel fuel systems (Radik M. Bashirov); technologies and means of technical service of automobiles, tractors and mobile arm machinery (I.I. Gagitov, A.V. Negovora).

During ten years the professors of the faculty have published 20 books, 39 study books, 156 articles and received 83 patents.

There are also scientific production centers: “Bashdiesel”; laboratory of technologies and means of technical service of fuel apparatus in auto tractor and combine harvester diesels; “Repairs. Restoration. Modernization”; “Engineering center” and “Applying”.

The faculty has trained more than 8,000 engineers so far.

Now there are eight departments at the faculty: of mathematics; of descriptive geometry and graphics; of theoretical and applied mechanics; of farm machinery; of tractors and automobiles; of metals technologies and repairs; of operating machine-tractor park and automobiles.
